Welcome to the Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Website

Medicine-Pediatrics is a challenging and rewarding medical specialty. Med-Peds physicians may pursue a wide range of career choices caring for patients across the age span. The University of Pittsburgh Health System Med-Peds program is committed to providing our residents with the most balanced and comprehensive medical training available. Our unique program combines the best elements of five major academic hospitals in the Oakland/Shadyside area of Pittsburgh. This broad and complete experience ensures that our trainees are well-prepared to practice clinical medicine and pediatrics in a variety of settings.

Within this large academic setting, we are fortunate to have a cohesive, supportive, and hard-working group of residents who are devoted to patient care and to each other. In addition, our residents enjoy a close working relationship with the program director and our other Med-Peds faculty and fellows.

Our primary missions are to train med-peds residents to become outstanding clinicians, and to develop leaders in primary or specialty care for children and adults. Whether your goals are to pursue primary care Medicine/Pediatrics, general academics, or subspecialty fellowship training, our diverse and challenging program will provide you with the skills, experiences, and opportunities necessary to develop a successful Medicine/Pediatrics career.

If you have further questions, please contact us, and if you would like to apply to our program, please review our application information.
